Q: Why did God Almighty come in the flesh?
A: God is omnipresent and omnipotent. He is all powerful. Then who or what can limit God’s ability, or restrict God so He is unable to do something? Certainly, God can and does come in the flesh.
Then, why does Almighty God come in the flesh? First, Jesus came to the earth to save sinners who sinned in heaven. Because the wages of sin is death (Ro 6:23), Jesus came to suffer and die in the place of His children. He was the sacrificial Lamb as a sin offering for us (Jn 1:29; Isa 53:5–10; Ro 8:3).
Second, Jesus came to preach the Gospel of the new covenant. He set examples for His children by being baptized (Mt 3:16), keeping the Sabbath as His custom (Lk 4:16), keeping the Passover with His disciples (Mt 26:17–28), and keeping the Festival of Tabernacles (Jn 7:2, 37). He also set examples by serving the disciples and by overcoming temptations (Mt 4:1–11). Jesus’ life is a manual for salvation.
Ultimately, Jesus came to give eternal life. God is the only one who has eternal life. Jesus gave us eternal life through the Passover of the new covenant, which was later abolished in AD 325. For 1,600 years since then, nobody was able to restore the Passover. That’s because they were not God. To restore the Passover, Almighty God has come again in the flesh.
