Q: Is the Bible Really the Word of God?
The Bible, a compilation of 66 books, was written over a span of 1,600 years, with various authors from diverse backgrounds—ranging from kings like David to shepherds like Amos (Am 1:1). Although the books were composed in different historical situations and times, a crucial point stands out: it is God who inspired all the prophets to write the Bible.
Since the authorship is divine, not human, the Bible maintains consistency and harmony throughout its verses, devoid of contradictions. The words in Genesis to Revelation carry divine power and authority, with every prophecy fulfilled or in the process of fulfillment. So, this divine origin contributes to the Bible’s sacred status and widespread readership.
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching.”
2 Timothy 3:16
“For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.”
2 Peter 1:21
